Quiz Lost in Summer Party

As time goes on in my pregnancy, I’m having to be very strict about which events I attend. Days spent rushing around London to get to five press meetings in one day are now a thing of the past. But when this invite came through my door, I was definitely going! Celebrating the relaunch of their Westfield Stratford store, here is what happened at the Quiz Lost in Summer Party.

Quiz were amazing to send out pieces from their new collection inspired by all things summer to their guests so we could wear and share on the night of the party. The dress I’m wearing is the Stone Bardot Double Frill Bodycon (now on sale for just £14.99) and it fit bump and I perfectly!

I always love seeing a sexy shoe display! There are so many shoes I’m loving from Quiz this season.

My hand is always on my lower back these days! You can see the Braid Bar behind me doing their magic on the press and bloggers. The drinks bar sorted out a wonderful mocktail for me!

My eyes caught this cute suede clutch (above) on display at the Quiz Lost in Summer Party- imagine this with matching suede mules!!!

I spy my ‘Paularazzi!’ doing a great job as always.

Live models were on display throughout the night in the shop window. Looking super fresh in the new Lost in Summer collection!

We had the lovely Amber Turner from TOWIE cut the ribbon to the newly opened store. After the cheers subsided, we all piled back into the store for more fun, drinks and shopping!

Thank you so much to Quiz for a memorable summer night! Shop the whole Lost in Summer range here as well as Occasion Dresses.

Thanks for reading Quiz Lost in Summer Party, head over to my latest post on a brand new hotel opening in London for another party post!

Say hello, at the Moxy hotel London Excel

I’m not sure if you are aware, but when Paul and I moved to London in 2014, we moved to an area called Newham- Canning Town to be more specific. This is a stone’s throw away from the ExCel Centre and London City Airport- very handy! As we lived there we watched the area being built up around us. We were in one block of newly built flats, but the area continued to expand and this included around the Royal Victoria Docks too (which is where the Moxy Hotel comes in). The Moxy hotel, part of the Marriott Group, has just opened its doors and I was so excited to be one of the first to head down there to see it. After all, I had watched it come along week by week until this May- and it’s finally ready to say hello!

You can’t miss this modern place with bright pink logo on the front of the building. It has 164 brand new rooms ready and waiting. The Moxy Hotel is pet friendly and most importantly there’s free wifi! This, much like the rest of the Moxy hotels around the world, have a very unique concept about them. They want guests to feel so at home in their hotels that they operate on a ‘DIY’ basis. Help yourself to drinks and snacks on offer 24/7, how cool is that?!

It’s a really casual space with great little touches everywhere you go.

The press and bloggers had more than a night’s worth of entertainment. Weird but fabulous displays, an alien chick, plus nearly naked waiters to serve the food and drinks throughout the night too! If you didn’t see my Snapchat from the party then I’m sorry you missed that!

The rooms upstairs were also decked out for us. One room had been turned into a Karaoke bar, another had a tattoo artist on hand doing actual tattoos for the guests! I’ve never experienced anything quite like this before, and I hope you will check out where you can check into your nearest Moxy Hotel  for your next venture!

Baby Essentials, preparing for baby

Now that my pregnancy has been announced on social media and on my Dubai holiday vlog, I am finally ready to start a new chapter. This chapter, much like all others on my blog, will be a unique and special addition, but by no means will completely define it. I am absolutely thrilled to be having a baby, but I still want my blog to represent who I am and be appealing for all types of readers. Fashion, beauty, film, travel, gluten free living and now another piece of the puzzle- parenthood. So, time to share an exciting look into some of my baby essentials, preparing for baby.

Baby Groups

I’ve found a really good way to start getting prepared for the arrival is by joining some baby groups. They are super quick to sign up to and I love receiving updates in my inbox every week that provide expert information and support. I am a member of the C&G baby club, My Mothercare and BabyCentre.

For the Hospital

I’ve been getting ready for the hospital and first few weeks by watching many YouTube videos. These are super handy to watch what other mothers are packing so you get a really good idea of what will be needed. I had no idea it was so much! My top favourite video was this one by Emily Norris: https://youtu.be/CCW_9a__LKk

Sleep Essentials

This week I attended an expectant parent event at my local Mothercare. I picked up a swaddling blanket after learning about them, and think that it will be a great addition to my baby essentials bundle!

Skincare for Baby

It’s going to be so lovely welcoming the new arrival into our home and lives, and so I’m gathering some essential skincare items suitable for newborn skin and hair. Included in this is the top-to-toe baby bath* from Johnson’s. This baby bath is proven to be as mild as water on baby’s skin so a super duper essential for skincare!

Skincare for me

It can be really easy to forget about yourself when growing another human. There are times when the struggle is real-  I’ve been through the first trimester sickness, increased hay fever, severe back pain and there’s still a good way to go! So mum’s to be, please don’t forget about you and take the time to enjoy the moments in the day when you can get them. This stretch mark defence spray from Science of Skin* has been amazing. I had tried several oils on my skin but didn’t like the residue it left afterwards. This simple spray on oil completely absorbs into my skin so I can spray, rub and go!

No stretch marks in sight!

Sneak peek into the wardrobe

Although I know the sex of the baby (and only me) I have always wanted a neutral wardrobe for the most part. This is obviously essential so that my family and husband don’t find out the sex, but I really am excited by the tones in baby’s wardrobe already! I’ll be throwing in some red, orange, green and yellow too, just no pink, purple or blue!

Quick dash to Dubai

I know what you’re thinking, why do a quick dash to a place like Dubai? If you’ve seen my previous posts on Dubai (here) from last year, you will know that we have friends out there who we visit each year. The reason for our three day quick dash to Dubai is mainly down to Paul and the fact that he simply won’t take the time off work. I’m cool with having a mini break, and seeing as this was the first time travelling while pregnant (18 weeks at this point) I was glad to get home pretty quickly.

I think that also because we have done Dubai before, we have seen the sights and got the t shirt so to speak. So this visit was all about seeing our friends, having a great few days with some nice weather and putting our feet up.

The jetlag didn’t really bother us too much, we decided to go business class, primarily because I knew that being uncomfy while pregnant was not a good idea. We could relax and enjoy the flight a lot more this way. I did have a little travel sickness just before we landed, but I’m blaming the baby for that one as it’s never happened before!

I was super excited to take my new travel wallet * with me from Fabriano’s Boutique:

It stores all your important documents and I fell in love with this item as soon as I saw it in the Marylebone store.

Day One

The kids were so happy to see us when they finished school, of course Paul took the majority of the leaps and hugs!

I took my ritual trip to get a mani pedi on day one of our quick dash to Dubai and went for blue nails. We spent the rest of the day relaxing and soaking up the beautiful sunshine.

Dress: Christian Audigier

Bikini: Asos

A trip to the local pool was a must too. This bikini was the only one that would fit me from my previous collection, so I bought a blue one just before we left from the TU dept at Sainsburys (shown in day two).

Day Two

Day two we headed to the beach at JBR. This was really nostalgic as pretty much 12 months before we were here and getting engaged! It was great to be back now married.

We went for breakfast at the Cheesecake Factory, another ritual of ours, before heading out into the late morning for some photos. My pantsuit is again from TU by Sainsburys and the beach bag* (Positano) is from Fabriano Boutique. I just loved the bright colours and sizeable straps- the perfect beach bag!

Announcing my pregnancy with a beach shoot was a dream come true. At this point I had waited long enough to announce it on social media and it came as a nice surprise to my Twitter and Instagram followers.

Bikini by TU from Sainsbury’s (which I must note now at 23 weeks no longer fits!)

Paul is wearing a gorgeous palm print swimming short* from Jacamo. I have to say when I was approached to style Paul up for the Dubai trip in Jacamo I was so excited. All of Paul’s outfits were chosen by me and he was reluctant to rock the palm print at first…

We match so well! Couples do still do this right?! I think he truly loved them.

Day Three

Day three we decided to take it easy and go shopping- total relaxation for me! We picked up quite a few things for the baby which I’ll share with you in my Dubai vlog coming soon.

I have no idea where this dress is from I must tell you, it’s my cousins and she bought it years ago in Miami. It’s one of my favs, plus it still fits!

Paul and I were reluctant to leave Dubai, it’s fast becoming our home away from home.

Shirt*: Jacamo

Chinos*: Jacamo

I hope you all are having a great summer 2017 so far. Let me know where you’ve been or where you are planning to go next. As for me, I’m fully grounded as we patiently await for the new arrival!
