MagnumXMoschino Launch Party London

After the success of last summer, Magnum have decided to open its doors once more to a chocolate lover’s paradise right in the heart of London. Just a quick walk from Covent Garden or Leicester Square, the bespoke Magnum experience is back! This year, Magnum have teamed up with the fabulous Moschino and Jeremy Scott to bring you a decadent showcase along with your custom-made dessert. Here’s what went down at the MagnumXMoschino Launch Party London.

The location is 21-23 Earlham St, directly opposite where Matilda the musical is currently playing. Stars, press and bloggers were oversubscribed on the launch night last week, so Savannah and I made it there early!

I also bumped into the fabulous Duchess of Fashion too! She hadn’t seen me since pre-bump so was lovely to have a little catch up.

Now, onto the experience itself, creating your very own custom dream Magnum! There are so many options to choose from (you can choose three toppings).

Your ice cream bar is then dipped into your chocolate of choice- I went for white.

Then your toppings are shaken up and poured over before the chocolate sets.

I went for dark chocolate shavings, pistachios and orange peel. All the toppings have allergy information on them so I knew which ones I could have that were gluten free. Then my piece de resistance was finished off in a milk chocolate drizzle.

It was serious pleasure and gave that signature Magnum crunch we all know and love.

The pop up also has a collection of Magnum models to admire. A lot of time and effort has gone into making this a perfect summer London attraction, so what are you waiting for?

You can create your own bespoke Magnum for £5.50 until the 10th September.

What a tang-tastic time

This week we celebrate Coeliac Awareness Week! So obviously as a coeliac lifestyle blogger, I wanted to bring you something that ties in with the theme. If you are local to London or just passing through I implore you to go visit Tang London. Tang is a fab little noodle bar with a great atmosphere and menu created around gluten and dairy free recipes. What a tang-tastic time I had there!

You can find Tang near Tottenham Court Road and is open Tuesday to Saturday for lunch and dinner. The first thing I tried out was the tofu starter.

It was traditional in its presentation yet modern in its uniqueness. Carefully fried and super yummy! The next thing on the menu (and my favourite thing ever) was the bao bun. The chefs worked so hard on creating the perfect gluten free bao bun with fried chicken and a spicy sauce. The bun is so warm and bouncy, I forgot that I was eating something that’s gluten free!

Next up I had a taste of the glass noodles with a tangy salad and egg- this one is for fans of a less spicy dish but still wanting an Asian style experience.

For mains I chose the chicken tang with rice noodles which was amazing. Again not too spicy but just enough of a kick from the ginger infused broth. The veggies were the perfect amount and I loved the authentic wooden soup spoon for extra slurping!

Finally, a palette-cleansing mini dessert called shiso sorbet made from sugarcane.

You don’t need much of this unusual dessert, it is definitely an acquired taste but well worth trying out!

Outtake of Evie drinking Karma Kola, we both had a tang-tastic time!

Munchies at The Maynard Arms

This January has come and gone so fast don’t you think? We are already into month two of the year, and although there is a heavy load of stuff going on in the world (and social media) right now, it doesn’t mean we can’t have a little joy in the form of several courses of great food. The Maynard Arms has recently reopened its doors and I was invited along with a number of bloggers to see what they had to offer. So here is a little bit about my munchies at The Maynard Arms.

I went along with my good friend from Trousseau Diaries on a very cold evening, and due to strike action on this particular day we ended up being a little late. Nevertheless, the journey from Oxford Circus to Crouch End was relatively simple. We hopped on a bus at Finsbury Park and were dropped off outside the Maynard Arms Pub.

We met up with our host and other guests sat along a large wooden table and I quickly got my very own personal menu marking all the gluten free dishes – a very good selection!

Roast rainbow vegetable salad, lentils, goat’s cheese curd, tahini dressing

Ribeye steak, herb crusted bone marrow, mushroom tarragon duxelle, crispy potato cake

Flat iron chicken, broccoli spinach slaw, fries

These three dishes were so yummy. Goat’s cheese and spinach salad is one of my favourite combos out there and it led wonderfully into the juicy lemon chicken and perfectly cooked steak. Each dish had something very original about it, very ‘not your average’ pub dinner by any standard.

Lemon curd eton mess, roasted pistachio nuts

Oh my this dessert had all the spoons going in for the kill. Again, something you do not see as the usual eton mess is normally a mixture of red fruit, but it was amazing.

If you are looking for a truly sophisticated dining experience with a traditional, rustic space then munchies at The Maynard Arms is definitely in your future!
