Husband takeover- what it takes to be a BoohooMAN

I love it when my family gets the opportunity to take part in my blog posts. Remember when we did that video where Paul did my makeup? Well he has certainly loved getting involved, and now it’s time to show you a different side to him in my husband takeover- what it takes to be a BoohooMAN.

BoohooMAN launched its first full range of Big & Tall clothing this season, helping to deliver a one stop fashion destination for men of all ages. There is a sizeable age gap between my husband and I, but that doesn’t mean we don’t work together in life or through our style. When Paul wants to be, he can be dapper, handsome and just as youthful as me!

Big and Tall Man Dash tshirt size XL

To me, here is what it takes to be a BoohooMAN:

A BoohooMAN is someone you can share your worst fears with and who doesn’t judge you.

A BoohooMAN is someone who will always stay true to what he believes in, and won’t let anyone steer him down a different path.

A BoohooMAN will be honest, supportive and will make you see sense when you have lost your sight.

To me, Paul is the definition of what it takes to be a BoohooMAN and always has been. 7 years ago (give or take a few months) I knew I had met someone very special. He proves this to me every day and sees me through my crazy mood swings without any sign of stress or anger.

I plan to have a few more husband takeovers on my site and social channels soon, so let me know if you enjoyed this husband takeover- what it takes to be a BoohooMAN. See what others are saying about BoohooMAN over on BritainReviews!

My top five summer brands

My top five summer brands were a little hard to narrow down as you can imagine! It’s been a while since I’ve done a beauty related post as I’ve been trying a huge amount of new and wonderful products over the past few months. Skin and hair changes caused by pregnancy mean that it is such a good time to be trying new things, and I’ve got a bunch of super products here that will have you set from head to toe!

Sebamed

Sebamed is a really unique brand that I discovered this year and has been so great. All the products (hair and skin) have a pH level of 5.5 to match the value of our own skin- how cool! This means that it can help to restore the body’s natural balance whether you have dry or greasy skin and hair types. I’ve definitely found the shampoo and conditioner a real treat to use, my hair and skin being much drier throughout my pregnancy journey.

Bio-Essence

I’m sure that you can name a huge list of products you have at home right now when it comes to skincare if you are anything like me. I go through quite a lot of cleansers, toners, and moisturisers as it is a part of my daily routine, and has been since I was about 18. However, I have never tried a range of products quite like the Bio-Essence 24K bio-gold range before. There’s something about opening a jar of cream to discover that it has little golden pieces inside! These break down and absorb into the skin as soon as you start a circular motion so don’t worry, you won’t be left with a golden face! These products stay on the skin for hours and help it feel radiant and glowy.

Dorco Eve 6

I had grown tired of using the same old disposable razors and was ready to try something a bit different. Dorco razors have introduced their first female razor- the Dorco Eve 6- to their collections so I wanted to give this a try. The pack comes with the handle and 8 replacement blades, not to mention the packaging was stunning! I’m a sucker for great presentation so I loved opening the big box to discover little boxes inside.

Lansinoh

Now this may not be in your average beauty blogger’s makeup up station, but this has literally been a lifesaver this summer. I’ve never had any issue with dry or cracked nipples before, but this little gem has sorted everything out after only a few weeks of usage. I cannot recommend this highly enough, pregnant or not, if you have sore or chaffed nips!

Pro Blo

Lastly we come to this brush duo from Pro Blo. I discovered the brand after getting involved with an FBL Twitter chat and was kindly sent these products. I love the concept of the interchangeable heads, and the big roller brush makes it so easy to blowdry my hair. The smaller brush is so handy for separating my hair into sections with its super fab pointy end. If you’re in need of some great new hair tools then give these guys a try!

Thanks so much for reading about my top five summer brands. Let me know if you’re going to be trying any of these products out to freshen up your beauty routine!

Clever Little Discoveries for baby

As a mum to be and also an observant bystander when seeing parents out and about, I know that being a mum/dad is a tough job. From birth, you are responsible for a new life, and you want to do the best you can possibly do for your child. Of course, no child is going to breeze through the first few months/years of its life without some drama, be it a bump or bruise or a fever or trapped wind. I’ve come up with a few items from a very handy website that you may well already know about, but if not then continue reading my clever little discoveries for baby, sponsored by Babythingz.

1. Sock Ons- £2.99

I had a few pairs of these given to me as a present for my baby shower. They are such a cute little gift which I could see saving a lot of time and hassle. I cannot wait to try them out as I know my baby is going to be a real fidget bum just like me!

2. Head support- £15.99

I really do think that something like this is worth investing in as it can be used straight from birth and up to around four months. Its main function is to prevent flathead but I’m guessing that by the looks of this cushion, baby will find it super comfy and supportive too! You can use this in a bouncer, rocker, carrycot or wherever your baby’s head is lying and it will help elevate them a few more degrees which makes a lot of difference to their field of vision.

3. Crib wedge- £24.99

This is a little different to the head support. The crib wedge (designed for the crib or cot) can also be used from birth but is designed to help baby sleep better. The main reasons you should give this a go is if your baby suffers from regurgitation, colic or breathing problems during the night. Of course, these are all very common occurrences in babies, so I really wanted to show you this as I had never seen one on the shelves before.

4. Wood effect corner cushions- £3.99

For someone who lives in a farmhouse where the walls and ceilings are pretty much wooden, I’m definitely investing in these! The usual plastic looking corner cushions just wouldn’t fit in with our decor at all, so these are definitely on my purchase list for when baby gets a bit older!

5. Crib rail teething protector- £18.99

Carrying on from the last clever little discovery, again for when baby is older, this caught my eye on the Babythingz site. Available in multiple lengths, this looks like a saviour buy if you are walking in to find your baby sucking on its crib edges! The protector will provide a safe and soft surface for baby to bite down on when teething starts to kick in.

6. Baby banz sunglasses- £12.99

Lastly, I wanted to share this cute little item with you. Again, the website has a ton of choice in colour and style, but I fell in love with these retro white sunglasses! Suitable from 0-2 years and fully adjustable, hopefully this will help those parents out there who struggle to keep sun protective headgear on baby’s head!

There’s so much more to discover on the Babythingz site. For winter time, I’m loving the look of these cosytoes to go into my pram.

Let me know what you think of my clever little discoveries for baby and if you have tried/seen anything like these items before?

Drink No Evil Karma Cola

I was immediately drawn to Karma Cola drinks not just for their great design, but also because of the story that goes with the brand. Drink No Evil Karma Cola is all about doing good and enjoying some great drinks in the process. The brand currently has three amazing beverages for all walks of life, and I am in love with all of them! Let me tell you a bit more about them…

DSC_0254

The Karma Cola foundation aims to produce fizzy drinks which stand for a cause. Every drink purchased helps a village in Sierra Leone, Africa and the proceeds help to support a number of Sierra Leonean communities by maintaining local areas to sending young people to school.

Flavour 1- The original Karma Cola

This is made from a cola nut (yes cola comes from a nut!) all the way from Sierra Leone. It has a unique blend including ginger and lemons which makes for a thirst quenching delight.

Flavour 2- Lemony!

This is a great mix of organic lemons and fair-trade sugar cane which makes the farmers smile. It makes its drinkers smile too as the lemon bursts out and hits all those taste buds.

Flavour 3- Gingerella

Gingerella is perfect for those wanting a fiery taste. It is quite strong and bursting with notes of vanilla and ginger.

Pour and Enjoy!

Here are some more shots courtesy of my sister Evie. You should get in touch with her here if you are needing a blogger photoshoot! She captured the drinks in action, which I’m sure you agree look so tempting during the hot summer season! We chilled the drinks before pouring each for a clean and refreshing taste…

So good in more ways than one- don’t forget that the more drinks Karma Cola sells, the more help they can do! Why not join the Drink no Evil Karma Cola campaign and host a great BBQ with some amazing drinks for July?! These drinks are available to purchase at Waitrose right now
