My transitional style story

My transitional style story starts with a holiday. A little holiday for a very special wedding, which got me thinking, what the hell am I going to wear? This month the three of us took our first flight to Ireland, and for Alice it was her first ever flight outside the womb! We needed to pack light but also pack for two adults and a baby, so you know we needed that Ryanair Plus ticket which allows extra cabin baggage.

So, transitional style. For me, this is summed up by something you can take with you and like a chameleon, change your look at the drop of a hat from Mummy chic to Hollywood glam. I also have a theme to this particular transitional style, and that’s stripes!

This look is just perfect for jetsetting on a domestic or international flight. Comfy cropped pants and a button down shirt leaves plenty of room for you to breath in. Flats are essential, but that doesn’t mean you have to fly in Uggs or trainers. These are from Ted Baker, the pants are M&S and the shirt is Hollister.

So, now onto the wedding reception. A simple braided updo and hair pinned back to keep my accessories on show, and Alice’s hands off my hair!

Lujia North East earrings in gold by Sacet Jewellery to compliment my own wedding rings. I wanted this look to be elegant but refined.

The location for the wedding itself was at the Westport Woods hotel, and my stripey transitional style for the day was an asymetric number from Boohoo.com. Black and gold heels from Karen Millen paired with these beauties below made for one of my favourite outfits this year…

I’m in love with these Sacet earrings, just so different and really makes the look work. My pineapple clutch never fails me either- whatever your style or spirit, a stand out fruity bag will work every time.

I switched to flats for the evening- my feet are not used to wearing heels and it felt so good to change this one detail and become 3 inches shorter again!

It really is all about switching up a few details to completely see a dress in a different eye. A pair of leggings and a fabulous hat creates the country loving girl you see below! These were taken a few days after we got back from Ireland just a couple of miles away from home.

Whether you are off on holidays and weddings this season or just planning a staycation, choose a dress you can play around with and create your very own transitional style story with some gorgeous accessories and footwear.

Here is my top transitional pick from Quiz Clothing, the things you can do with these styles of dresses is limitless. Get some transitional style into your wardrobe before the summer really hits.

London Fashion Week Day Two

London Fashion Week Day Two had me visiting one of my favourite places- The Grooming Room. Forward PR never disappoints at pulling out all the stops for bloggers, press and special guests at The Grooming Room and this season was no different. I had an afternoon appointment with the Sasoon hairstylists and a nail appointment too. This had me prepped and ready to go before hitting the road to my catwalk shows!

My Outfit

On Day Two I wore a floral co-ord and nude duster coat from Boohoo. My necklace was Butler and Wilson and my bucket bag was from Today I’m Me.

I had some lovely orb earrings to complete my look which were from the Vivienne Westwood collection available online at Tessuti, one of my favourite sites for those special pieces. I paired the earrings with a bright lip and some lashes from the KISS collection. My hair was styled so that the earrings were on show at all times, I just love them!

London Fashion Week Day Two took me to the Morecco show. I think all the colours were used for this season’s show as each look was as vibrant as the next. A lot of flowing materials and wrapped designs were displayed during the show. It was good to see Morecco as this was my first time viewing this specific designer. The show was a part of Fashion Scout at Freemason’s Hall.

Stay tuned for Day Three coming soon!

The Dubai Series: Day Three

So onto The Dubai Series: Day Three – the last day of our 72 hour holiday. Let’s start with some pretty awesome hair if I do say so myself…
The Dubai Series- saharasplash-55
So I did a mixture of French braid to the nape of my neck, and then I tied them up and did fishtails to the ends. I really liked the results of this spontaneous do! I think it went really well with the look from day three.
Paul and I took a taxi to JBR, the Jumeirah Beach Resort on our last day to spend some time with each other. We had a sizeable lunch at the Cheesecake Factory, I absolutely love their raspberry lemonade! The marble table at lunch provided a perfect opportunity to show off my second pair of nail wraps from Thumbsup nails, on the Dubai Series: Day Three I’m wearing ‘Mars’.

After that, we ventured out to find a great location to do some shooting.

I’m wearing a biker jacket with chiffon fall from Her Boutique, I love how unique the jacket is with this extra bit of detail. I decided to pair this with some crochet trousers from Primark. They are super comfy and perfect for hot weather down at the beach.
We found a stunning staircase and so we took advantage!

Underneath the jacket I’m wearing a bikini from Boohoo.com

As we made our way down to the beach, we spotted some camels walking towards us!

Golden gift guide for xmas 2015

We all want to give the best gifts to our loved ones and somehow still outdo those gifts we bought from last year. I’ve chosen a super easy theme to help you guys out when buying for your group of girls, and that theme is gold! My golden gift guide for xmas 2015 is here to help you nice and early so you’re not stuck for any last minute gifts this year.

goldmember 1Gold is a colour that is always around for the Christmas season so you can’t go wrong with it. Every girl wants to unwrap a present with a bit of sparkle and I’ve chosen 3 clutch bags and 3 necklaces to get those eyes glimmering with joy! My choices range from £10-£80 so whatever your budget, I’ve got you covered with some of my favourite golden gems you can find online right now. Whether you need help buying for a female friend, girlfriend, family member or treating yourself, look no further than my golden guide featured below!

Boohoo- Katie Glitter Pom Clutch – £14

boohoo bag 2

So I picked this cute little clutch up at the Boohoo xmas party this month. This bag caught my eye as I was browsing through their seasonal collection and I didn’t want to put it down. Fortunately Boohoo were kind enough to let me take it home, and I just love it so much. The pom on the front is faux fur and for £14 it’s such a steal.

Together from Kaleidoscope- Golden Snake Clutch – £29

Together Kaleidoscope gold snake clutch bagAnother amazing bag which I happen to also have in my possession is this wonderful snake print clutch from Kaleidoscope. I met with Kaleidoscope’s team this month at Flemings Mayfair for a little get together with the brand and bloggers. I fell in love with this bag as well as a blue faux fur coat at the event, and was so thrilled to receive the bag from them in the post last week. This retails at the great price of £29 and would go perfectly with a slip dress from my last post on Motel Rocks!

See the complete partywear range here for even more inspiration!

Love Moschino from House of Fraser- Gold Embossed Clutch – £60

Moschino golden clutch bagFor someone really special, I’ve chosen this Moschino embossed clutch bag. This is a great statement bag and would be perfect for gifting a fashionista this Christmas. The bag is on sale right now with £15 off, so I’d really recommend getting this one quick before it sells out.

Boohoo- Natasha Statement Gem chain Choker – £10

Boohoo Natasha statement gem chain choker

This choker is perfect for an unusual gift as there aren’t many like these in the high st stores. The choker sits gracefully around the neck and would be ready to wear day or night to spice up your ootd. Its detailing is simple yet effective and will bring some Christmas cheer no doubt. I’d recommend getting this for a best friend.

Tatty Devine- Shooting Star Necklace – £25

Tatty Devine shooting star necklaceTatty are a favourite of mine, simply because the materials they use never wear down like you get on other gold and silver accessories. This shooting star necklace is an acrylic hand cut piece that screams Christmas from starpoint to starpoint, and guaranteed you won’t find something like this in stores either this year!

Swarovski Stardust Necklace – £79

Swarovski stardust necklaceLastly we come to the devine jewellers that are Swarovski. I think that they are a timeless company you can buy for little angels or your dearest nan and it just works. The Stardust necklace is brought on by the success of the multicoloured wrap bracelet campaign this year featuring Miranda Kerr, and what a way to end the year with this golden gem. I would buy this for my mother without a doubt, but obviously now cannot as she’s probably read this post! But what’s to stop you from getting this for your mum this Christmas???

So there you have it, my golden gift guide whatever your budget. If you’re anything like me then you’ve probably already got a spreadsheet and colour coded it! Relax, we’re officially at the last week of November this week so break out the mince pies and mulled wine already!

Stay warm and think golden thoughts,

Saharasplash
