Fantastic services saves the day

I’m sure I’m not the first to admit it on the internet, but being a mum is so damn time consuming! All the to-do lists I make at the start of a new week pretty much looks the same by the end of the week, that’s if I haven’t lost it under a pile of Alice’s washing. So you can understand, things start to fall down the priority list pretty quickly, especially household chores that involve a bit of hard work. This is where Fantastic Services saves the day, and boy did they deliver.

In case you’re in the dark about who Fantastic Services are and what they do, here’s a little info..

Fantastic Services (a domestic services provider) all began in 2009 with a meeting of two like-minded individuals, company founders Rune Sovndahl and Anton Skarlatov. They saw a gap in the market, combined their knowledge and expertise to create a marvellous business that now completes around 40,000 services each month! Serving London, South East and North West England, they really are a dream team that come to your rescue when you need it most- be it an oven clean or an end of tenancy blitz.

Now, try not to judge the oven in the ‘before’ pics… I know it was bad. But if you’re like me and just can’t stop watching those satisfying YouTube videos where random objects get cleaned up, you’re going to love this post!

So below you see a very dirty looking oven. This is a standard, conventional fan oven that clearly had seen better days, weeks and years!

The trays had become incredibly stained and we just couldn’t even begin to tackle cleaning it ourselves.

Our knight in shiny vehicle arrives!

The expert cleaners know how to do the best job without leaving a mess behind.

You aren’t ready for these results…

It was so shiny I had to take a selfie in my oven door! Clean and shining bright as if it were brand new again.

Fantastic Services kindly fitted us a brand new oven light too as ours didn’t work.

I’ve taken the liberty of merging the before and after side by side so you can really see the hard work and amazing service we received.

Someone was thrilled to take a peak inside our beautiful oven- and the best thing is you can use it straight away, no chemicals or smells left behind.

If you need to hire Fantastic Services for your oven cleaning, gardening or removal needs, head to their main website here.

She’s a real life merbaby

It is no secret that baby Alice is most definitely a water baby. She was born into a birthing pool at Addenbrookes, and now five months down the line, we are swimming all the time. Every time we bath her before bed, she is happy to take a dip and get wet from head to toe- and she makes some darn good splashes with her legs too! She’s a real life merbaby, and I’d love to share some useful products we keep close by for when it’s swim time:

Alice has a collection of costumes, but these happy nappies seem to be the easiest we have found, and the prettiest too! There’s lots of designs to choose from on the website.

Simply Swim Splash About Happy Nappy

Splash About Fings

Such a great little invention, here is Alice proving she’s a real life merbaby with stacks of confidence as she balances on her front using the Fings flotation aid. She uses the small Fings suitable from 3-15 months.

She loves gliding through the water by nana and auntie! Holding onto her hands, she is simply loving to float around and kick her legs. This is such a great way to tire her out, and a sure fine way to guarantee a long nap!

Simply Swim offer so much more than kids swimwear- they have a lot of adult sport and fitness ranges too including women’s swimwear – below is my top pick from the range – the storm booster back one piece.

Do you agree that Alice is a real life merbaby? I give it a few more months and she should be ready to take her first strokes all by herself!

Moving house with a baby is hard!

Since December I have been heavily involved in moving my Mum into her new house. For those of you who haven’t seen, my new house, new home for mumma post is right here for the before shots of the house. This house is only 5 minutes down the road from the old one mind you, but don’t think that this has made life any easier for us- moving house with a baby is hard!

My bedroom from my adolescent years has seen a lot of things come and go. Fashion, accessories, books and DVDs – yes I was a huge collector. It was definitely time to sort through my massive collection of keyrings and countless (yet now obsolete) electronic devices such as a portable DVD players, 3 laptops from 15 years ago and several out of date digital cameras.

Moving house is a mammoth task all by one’s own self, but throw a baby into the mix, and the task somehow gets very daunting and excessively drawn out. I’ve been going through my dated wardrobe, opening drawers I haven’t looked in for years little by little, and only now am I finally seeing an end in sight. I have a huge box for charity filled with trinkets, candles and such, but I also have a fair few boxes packed up for Alice when she is a bit older too.

This week I went through my entire book collection- about 15 copies of Twilight which I am not ashamed of at all- and moved over what seems to almost be the last of the possessions. They don’t have a home yet in our new bedroom, so at the moment they are residing on my mother’s living room floor- bad I know! Here’s a couple of shots of the tidy places in the new house!

So, moving house with a baby is hard! Almost too hard it seems now we are months down the line, and my sister’s bedroom is even more of a mess than mine (no surprise there). We’ve had a number of helpers, friends and family, to try and ease the load for us but we still have a long way to go. The dreaded loft will be opening its trap into a black hole of clutter from about 3 decades past, and I just know it’s not going to be a fun task!

If you are moving house and have a baby with you, I highly recommend you look into getting some outside help, like from themanvan.co.uk. They offer quick and friendly house and office removals and removal with packing service too! I genuinely think that one doesn’t know the depths to which their household goes until it’s too late, so think smart and get some professional help for your house and for your own peace of mind!

Aldi Baby and Toddler Event Jan 2018

It’s back, the big Aldi Baby and Toddler Event for Jan 2018 and I’m super excited. As always, Aldi has an amazing selection of products for little ones ranging from bedroom furniture to buggies, feeding time to bath time and more. The upcoming Baby & Toddler Specialbuy event is happening online as of Sunday 14th January and in store from the 18th. Offers include beautifully crafted nursery furniture to everyday essentials, and I’m here with a few sneak peeks for you!

In the last event I grabbed the crazy popular Mamia snuggle nest and this gorgeous Moses basket. Great news, the Moses basket is making a reappearance in the January event for £19.99.

I adore these Ready to go baby books for just £3.99 each. They have some lovely little advice sheets inside for parents as well as being a great way to share a story with your little ones.

I am ready to grab this cellular blanket for £2.99 in the online sale. Purple is Alice’s favourite colour so I’m going to be quick to add this to my basket for her!

One of my favourite sneak peeks from the January Baby and Toddler event is this smart Buggy Organiser. It’s got great net compartments for those all important items you need for baby when taking a trip out.

Lastly, and I cannot wait to put it up this year, is a dinosaur wall height chart! Alice has several dino-themed outfits so it will be a joy to mark her growth on this rawr-some feature!

Here are some more of my top picks I am hoping to snap up from the Aldi Baby and Toddler event online starting this Sunday 14th January (sorry for all the dinosaur puns!)

Aldi Baby and Toddler Event

Today is the day!! Thursday 17th August is not just any old Thursday this week- the ever popular supermarket Aldi sees the return of its Baby and Toddler Event across the UK! I’m a huge follower of Facebook pages such as UK Baby Deals and Extreme Couponing which has helped me stay aware of many store events and sales. Returning for a third time this year, I have found an amazing selection of products and new launches on sale and hope that you like them!

So the Aldi Baby and Toddler event has been online for the past week, which meant that I have preordered a few things so as not to miss out. A lot of these are sold out now online BUT are available from within stores today…

Mamia Baby Snuggle Nest £19.99

This snuggle nest rivals the Poddle Pod, but the price tag is much nicer at just £19.99. I cannot wait for it to arrive as I’ve seen a lot of mums use this type of support and they love it.

Dreambaby Back Seat Baby Mirror £9.99

This was definitely a last minute essential on my list, so I grabbed it while the stock was still available. This back seat mirror is great to stimulate baby when on long car journeys so they can interact with themselves and keep them occupied!

Penguin Hooded Towel and Mitt £2.99

I just love anything penguin related as the colour scheme goes so well with my neutral theme. At just £2.99 for a hooded towel and mitt you can’t go wrong.

Avent Baby Soothers £2.79

I haven’t made my mind up about soothers yet. I guess each baby is different so we will just have to see how things go. But it’s nice to have the option there if necessary or required after a sleepless night at 5am! These ones are translucent, but there are lots of colours and sizes to choose from.

Nuby Steam n Mash Set

Now I can’t find these online anymore, but if you like the look of the bowls then head down to your local Aldi for a browse! They have lots of Nuby sets for feeding and these steam n mash bowls look like so much fun!

I’d love to hear if you are an Aldi Baby and Toddler Event veteran or if your’e a first time mum like me looking for some great last minute deals!

Feet are still visible for now!
