It’s a love hate relationship

Now you’re probably thinking that I’m going to be talking about a love hate relationship with a person in my life. Sorry to say nope! I don’t think I will ever use my blog as a platform to vent/ air dirty laundry about anyone in my life. I want to keep this a place about sharing my passions about my lifestyle and I am excited to watch it grow a few more branches this year. It’s a love hate relationship story with a particular colour- the colour pink.

I’ve had a bit of a break recently so this is sort of my comeback into fashion post, so it’s got to be strong. Which is why I’m sharing a few of my feelings on pink. Many of you who know me closely will laugh at how much I go on about hating the colour pink. I know, pink! I don’t really know where this comes from, but all I know is throughout my life I have had a real problem with the colour pink. Perhaps it’s a deep down rebellion for gender stereotyping, or perhaps it’s as simple as my own unique preference. Whatever the cause, I think that it’s rather odd that recently I’ve had a change of heart. Now I still cannot stand a garishly hot pink- it’s just not suited to my personality or my aura. But dusty pink or metallic pink- now that’s another story!

So I decided to embrace the change on this particular photo shoot in the heart of London shot by Ewa Piatkowska of Horaczko Photography.

We had a marvellous morning selecting the locations. Ewa really knew how to capture the right moment and the shots came out so well!

Throughout the wardrobe changes I wore the same shoes, as these really are the perfect shoes to go with the pink! They are from Deichmann* and are a lovey nude suede boot with warm tones and a chunky heel. I felt great posing in them for the whole morning, and would definitely go from day to night wearing them!

I’d like to thank Ewa and you all for being so patient while waiting for this post, and I really did enjoy being seen wearing pink for the first time in my adult life. It’s still a love hate relationship though, who knows what will happen next season!

Keeping it Sassy with Spectrum Collections

I had the pleasure of attending a very exclusive event last month, and I had been wanting to check these guys out for a while after the social craze going on with their collections. Spectrum Brushes hosted a fantastic launch party for their brand new range- The Bomb Shell by Chloe Lloyd and it was amazing! I had met a new blogger friend (as I always do) earlier on that day, and so we went together to the venue in Soho. Her blog is HelloMissJordan and you must check out her blog after you’ve finished this post! Here’s how we were keeping it sassy with Spectrum Collections…

The vibe of the whole event was mermaid, so bloggers were arriving with the most fabulous hair colours and dressed to impress. Jordan and I went for purple and pink!

So now I’m going to show you some of the wonderful brushes on display from the new Bomb Shell collection, and in case you don’t know much about Spectrum Collections all their brushes are cruelty free and vegan friendly!

How beautiful are these brushes? The have pink handles with rose gold detail. This setup gave me some serious inspo as to how I’m going to be displaying my brushes from now on! Any recommendations for rose gold cups like this leave me a comment below! And now onto the piece de resistance, the one you’ve all been waiting for:

Now it wouldn’t be a complete blog post without sharing with you the amazing display of food from the Spectrum launch. I would describe it as a feast fit for a unicorn and a mermaid tea party- just look at all of it!

Everything sparkled and looked so gorgeous! Of course no donuts or cupcakes for the coeliac, but I certainly enjoyed the clam macarons and the pearly merringues! So there’s one more thing I’d like to show you, and this is the pure definition of keeping it sassy with spectrum collections. We met a very talented artist who goes by the name of DOM & INK. He was fabulous and turned both Jordan and I into mermaids!

We definitely channelled our inner Disney princesses for these!

I had such an amazing time and want to thank Spectrum and Avant PR for hosting such a magical launch party, I cannot wait to trial the brushes out!

Taking a walk with Lylia Rose

Hey beauties, welcome back, can you believe that we are now into the latter parts of Jan 2016? Neither can I! As you may have seen from my insta recently, I hinted that I would be doing a collaboration with Lylia Rose. Lylia Rose is a fashion boutique and lifestyle blog all rolled into one and so I was over the moon when I got to choose my very own scarf to feauture on my own blog, and I think I chose well! I know it’s still really cold outside, but I couldn’t resist shooting on what was a beautiful weekend just gone. The sun was shining, so I decided that I was seeing spring blossom early by taking a walk with my dog and with Lylia Rose!

For those of you who aren’t introduced, I have the pleasure of owning a very big and beautiful Great Dane whose name is Harley. He is full of character and loves the camera, so I took the opportunity to spend some quality time with him on a trip back home to my mother’s house where he lives and to show you all how I chose to style my wonderful new scarf, its name is the green magnolia blossom.

I chose the green magnolia blossom scarf as it has wonderful spring colours, but it is big enough to wrap around you and keep the chilly days at bay too- perfect for our current climate!

I decided to use Harley for a little wardrobe inspo and dressed head to toe in black and white to really offset the beautiful colours in the scarf and to match my four legged friend.

I wore culottes from forever 21, an American Apparel houndstooth bodysuit and my Karen Millen fitted jacket.

As well as taking a walk with Harley, I also took the scarf on another trip to see the in-laws. They have a stunning country house and made for an excellent location to show the scarf off a bit more. The day wasn’t as sunny, but the wind really helped to lift the scarf upwards and flaunt its lovely design to its best ability. It is light, soft, floaty and everything I want in a scarf for this time of year.
