I Love Connock London

I’m sure you all remember I hosted a really fun carnival party last month, if you didn’t see the post I blogged about it here. At the party I had MyShowcase come to show us a really lovely range of products, and one in particular stood out to me straight away. This brand (and post) is about Connock London, a lovely brand with a rich and vibrant history. Its founder, Amanda Connock, has developped a truly inspired selection of products as she follows in her father’s footsteps to bring a little piece of heaven to your doorstep- here’s why I love Connock London:

I have 2 products I want to show you in this post, both are made with the wonderful kukui oil. Kukui oil helps to lock in moisture and it keeps your skin feeling smooth and hydrated.

Hydrating hand and body lotion

This is perfect to keep in your bathroom with its sleek and sophisticated design. I use this on my hands daily and the scent is so lovely. You really do have to try it if you are a fan of exotic aromas. I can smell spices and flavours which are so addictive I just can’t stop smelling this lotion after I use it!

Radiant Glow Body Oil

This body oil is a best seller and I love this product! I spray this oil on my arms, shoulders and legs for a radiant glow if I’m going out. It doesn’t feel oily at all as my skin absorbs the wonderful liquid instantly. All that’s left is the amazing scent of the kukui oil mixed with a fabulous shimmer and glow. This is perfect for sensitive skin and for those of you who prefer a softer scent to using an EDT spray.

Bloggers Hangout Summer Heatwave

Another month, another fabulous Bloggers Hangout event. This time the location was Charing Cross and the venue was The Strand Gallery. I had been looking forward to this as I do every BH event. Danielle (the founder) always goes the extra mile and certainly puts on one hell of a shindig for the bloggers as well as the brands attending. The Bloggers Hangout Summer Heatwave (as I am calling it) was a 3-day extravaganza of which I managed to attend 2 days. I can’t wait to give you all the juicy details about my fav brands there and who I went with!

On the first day, I went with a lovely blogger called Kendra. She is an American blogger over in London for a few months so we met up and I showed her just how amazing being a blogger in London can be! It was so hot in the venue we both were glad we wore summery dresses!

We visited KB Hair and took this epic snap, KB Hair Extensions had some lovely colours to show us, including grey!

Sass and Belle, a homeware brand with so many lovely things, had a chat with us and talked us through their range of amazing summer products. I adore my pineapple cup which I featured in my Karma Cola post!

We met a fabulous nail wrap designer who was displaying her amazing collection of Dinkibelle wraps. I can’t wait to try mine out and show you!

The Perfume Shop was located downstairs at the venue and they had the most amazing display of all their favourite fragrances old and new. My absolute favourite of the day was Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb, it’s to die for! Floral fragrances and the stunning setup definitely had me in the summer mood at the Bloggers Hangout Summer Heatwave!

Onto Day Two. This time I took with me my best blogger bud Merrell-Ann from TrousseauDiaries to explore some more!

We met Pink Parcel who are a fabulous brand helping girls from all over with their ‘Classic Period Drama’ It’s a monthly subcription service to help us girls through our stressful times every 28 days and they include not only femenine products but makeup, skincare products and best of all- chocolate!

I met with Faust’s Potions on the 2nd day who were just great. They have come up with some lovely remedies to help wake you up in the morning (which tastes like orange juice) and also they have one to help relax you before bed at night time. I’ll be fully reviewing these products on the blog very soon so not going to give away anything else!

Regenerate were great to see at the event, they are a dental care company who have created products which help to restore your enamel. I must say I’ve been using the toothpaste for just over a week now and there is no sensitivity anymore when I eat cold things which is wonderful. I will definitely keep you all posted on how I progress with the advanced toothpaste and boosting serum.

I also took some shots of three gorgeous bloggers wearing DaSilva London clothing outside the venue. It’s the perfect spot for a blogger to stop and take some photos if you don’t want to trek all the way to Kensington!

Two Great Skin Savers for Summer

Since starting my journey as a full time blogger, I’ve been going non-stop to bring you the best fashion, beauty and London lifestyle. These last few weeks have definitely taught me that I need to use my time wisely if I am going to make a successful longterm career from being a blogger. A lot of people have been saying that it must be great to not have to get up and go to work in the mornings, but that just isn’t true. I get up at the exact same time as I did before to start work off as early as possible. I seize each day as I am very aware that every single day counts. So this post is all about being conscious of time and I have Two Great Skin Savers for Summer to show you which I’m obsessing over right now!

These two products are from a brand called Time Bomb. Their slogan is: ‘We can’t stop time, but we can change how it shows on your face’. It’s something that we are all after am I right? Products which defy the natural order of things and that help to maintain our youthfulness for as long as we can. As a beauty blogger, I was so impressed with Time Bomb so here’s my Two Great Skin Savers for Summer.

Time Bomb Complexion Cocktail with a shot of Chlorophyll

This product smells like fresh, lush greenery as soon as the cap is open. This is great for me as an allergy sufferer, if I actually take a whiff of freshly cut grass I’m a sneezing mess! The Complexion Cocktail with a shot of chlorophyll is designed to detox your skin and create a smooth and renewed complexion. I use this every day and my skin is left feeling so soft and perky! This is a definite must for sun seekers and those who want a quick and easy way to get back to fresh and healthy skin.

Time Bomb Cosmetics holiday in a bottle

This is such a star product I cannot recommend it enough. It’s adorable size makes it perfect for on-the-go commuters who want a radiant boost to their complexion. This holiday in a bottle isn’t a tanner or a foundation, this is a pigmented cream which changes colour as you apply to give you a perfect ‘just got back from the beach’ glow.

Just look how this product changes my pale hand into a bronzed beauty!

Getting the Greek Treatment with Oykos

It’s really important that we all have a good pamper once in a while. It can be quite expensive to go out in London to do so, so why not bring the spa to you? In this post I am working with Danone’s brand new Oykos Whip n Mix yoghurts and my friend and blogger Merrell to bring you all the fun we had at mine when I hosted a spa night in for the two of us! Getting the Greek Treatment with Oykos was so much fun, and here’s what we got up to:

Oikos in Greek literally means hearth and home, so there wasn’t a better way to enjoy these tasty treats while in the comfort of my own living room. We had some gorgeous spa packs between us to get us into the relaxed spirit

We lit some candles, and I brought out my foot spa to help us start to forget about our day at work. Getting the Greek treatment with Oykos was working out well so far!

After a soak we used the Sanctuary Spa body souffle from our spa packs and I got into my comfy slippers from The White Company, pure bliss! I also gave Merrell a mini pedi too:

Feeling nice and chilled, I went to go get the Oykos Whip and Mix yoghurts from an equally chiled fridge. We just had one tiny snag in our plans, which was that Merrell couldn’t eat the yoghurt as she is lactose intolerant. But I didn’t invite her over by mistake, I had a plan to make sure that we both got to enjoy getting the Greek treatment with Oykos that evening…

So I got the Oykos packs and some spoons, and we opened them up…

I ate some of mine as it would be a crime not to, the whipped yoghurt and fruity compote is just amazingly good!

I then got some yoghurt, and told Merrell to sit still… as it was going on her face!

As well as being a tasty snack, I decided to put the Oykos packs to a very good secondary use, and of course I then had my face done too…

We had such a fabulous evening and really enjoyed using all the goodies from our spa packs as well as eating/wearing the yoghurts! Getting the Greek Treatment with Oykos was just what we needed to help us unwind and have a great night in 🙂

Elemis is Everything

Usually when I am sent products such as clothes, makeup and hair products, I use them immediately and form an instant opinion for my reviews. However, when Beauty Expert got in touch with their Elemis Biotec regime, I knew that this wouldn’t be just your average review. Over the past 6 weeks I have been using the Biotec range and now I want to tell you why Elemis is everything.

Elemis is a longstanding British brand and I’ve always seen their products used in spas and salons. Before now, I had tried some of their body moisturisers and so I knew that it was a brand I got along well with. Beauty Expert kindly sent me 3 products from the Biotec range:

-Skin energising cleanser

-Skin energising day cream

-Skin energising night cream

This range is predominantly an anti-ageing regime. There wasn’t a better time to try it out since I have recently been feeling more concerned about my skin and wanting to maintain its youthfulness (now that I’m closer to 30 than I am 20!). The cleanser contains electrolytes and minerals which help to energise the skin. It has a very earthy scent and contains nutmeg along with multiple fruit oils for an amazing smell. I apply 2 pumps to my face and add water to create a lather-

This helps to cleanse, get rid of impurities and oils as well as rebalance my skin.

Now I’m prepped and ready for the day cream!

The day and night cream have one pump but two different compartments. They contain zinc and copper which help keep everything vitalised- just what I have been looking for! I tried out a brand new technique and took some shots underwater, I think they came out pretty well!

I absolutely love the Elemis Biotech range. It’s so soft on my sensitive skin and I have really noticed a difference in my complexion. It’s definitely more balanced and always feels nourished after my Elemis routine.

So that’s why Elemis is everything right now, it’s my go-to choice for a cleanser, moisturiser and skin booster all in these three products. You should definitely have a go yourself and these are available to buy from Beauty Expert!

All Doved Up for a Change

So recently I have been rushed off my feet with hardly any time to slow down to even think about what I’m doing. What little time I do have outside of working hours I spend blogging and out and about in London at events. This is not a bad thing at all though, I love it and am so excited to start blogging full time as of next month! So I’m taking the leap and leaving my full time job, very scary indeed! I just can’t fit it all in anymore as hard as I try. This post is all about how I’ve partnered with Dove who keep me staying super fresh as I balance my everyday working life plus all the blogging in between! Here’s how I’m All Doved Up for a Change:

Dove has always been my go-to brand for an anti-perspirant, it works so well with my sensitive skin with 1/4 moisturiser in their deodorants. It also has the staying power I need in so many lovely scents. Right now I’m using the Dove original 48 hour protection spray in a compressed can, I love it so much!

So here’s where the day begins, I quickly spray, it’s in my bag and away I go to work and then onto 2 fabulous blogging events back to back!

After my 8 hour office day, I’m heading stright for the Ham Yard Hotel. I am wearing a sleeveless co ord set from House of Celeb Boutique, my underarms are feeling smooth and great at 6pm still as I arrive at the Palmers coconut escape event.

The Coconut escape is fabulous, signature cocktails on a rooftop bar and this coconut oil formula collection on display had me wanting to stay forever. But, it was time to move onto the next event…

I arrive at the brand new LashBar store for 7.30pm. They have just opened up a Lash and Brow Bar, and I am so excited to see the new store.

Treatments are underway to celebrate the new opening as well as offering guests the chance to try out the new semi permanent lash extensions ‘Russian Varia’. I go for a classic look and have individual lashes placed at the ends of my eyeslashes. The staff are lovely and here is a shot I took of one of the guests having the Russian Varia lashes done:

I’ve still got my outfit on and arms are out!

The time is now 8.30pm and I’m on my way home. It’s been an incredible (but busy day) and although I am so tired, I did not break a sweat all day thanks to Dove.

I’m definitely all Doved up for a change in my life, and now that I’m leaving my job to start blogging full time, plus the wedding planning, I hope that Dove will see me through for what’s to be an exciting adventure for the rest of 2016!
