I have been dying to write a post all about Lindex ever since attending their store launch at Westfield in September. I heard about them through Fashion Foie Gras and after checking their site out I was on that guest list pronto! I would say that their style is h and m meets forever 21, but they are all about sustainability which is great. They have a fabulous range of autumn colours and are on trend with culottes, polo necks and more.
On the night of the launch, they were holding an Instagram competition which I happened to win, but didn’t see the direct message until 3 weeks later! I blame my crappy iPhone 5 for not sending out notifications, I’m due an upgrade and the iPhone 6 is calling my name!!
Anyways, I contacted Lindex, apologised for not responding and they had the gift voucher sent out to me, what darlings! So off I went to Lindex one day after work to see what took my fancy.
I picked up an oversized monochrome jumper, as my wardrobe is needing some long sleeves right now, a grey longline cardigan and also a pair of knee high cable knit socks- all for under £25!
I can’t wait to show you the results, so without further delay, here are the shots and short clip of me monochroming in the city with Lindex- tres chique I think!
We went to Trent Park for the lush scenery in the video- let me know how you would have styled this jumper up!
So I wanted to write a post about getting that awesome autumn wardrobe on a budget. I know a lot of us out there are struggling with big city living costs but still want to look fabulous.
I will show you how I got a whole new autumn wardrobe for under £200 which includes dresses, a skirt, jumper, trousers, a bag and a pair of boots!
First stop- Bond Street. It was a miserable train journey home one afternoon, and after series of cancellations, I decided to go for a wander to let the trains get back to normal. I wasn’t on a mission for a new wardrobe, but I somehow ended up getting off at Bond Street and following the crowd to Primark.
I have found Primark to be hit and miss over the years. Sometimes I find the most amazing things in there, and other times I come out very disappointed. I think that this last venture has outdone itself, I adored the pieces from the AW collection which I found after only being in there for an hour. They have the perfect autumn purples and oranges everyone is looking for. Here are the pieces I bought:
This is such a staple piece at the moment, I adore it! I personally am loving brown and black right now, so here is how I styled this up!
These boots I also nabbed from Primark at a great price. These are wide fit chelsea boots so super comfy and make your ankles look slimmer too! The website don’t have them in tan but here is the boot in black:
Carrying on with the suede madness, I picked up a suede dress too with eyelet detail on the straps. Really retro and looks great for work if you put a blouse underneath it:
Next up, the bag! This photo really doesn’t do this beauty justice. Its front pannel you see in the photo is monochrome check, but the sides are a beautiful brown so perfect when wanting to mix blacks and browns! Also, a fabulous price no? You can see the brown detail in my photo where I am wearing the suede skirt above!
Now these 2 dresses I couldn’t find on the website, so I had an excuse to do a photoshoot in my hallway 🙂
This purple suede dress is £13 from the AW Primark collection, such a steal! I paired it with a leaf necklace and suede boots from Fashion Prescription
Next up, more purple! Again same price and from Primark again, only this one has full sleeves and lace detail on the shoulder
Now let’s move onto a new fav of mine, Lindex. I went to the opening of their new store in Westfield earlier on in the week and fell in love with so many pieces. Lindex is a Swedish brand but now are opening up several stores across London, I really recommend checking them out as their stuff is killer but the price isn’t! I got myself a beautiful orange jumper, a pair of crop trousers and best for last, a black shirt dress with lace up front for just £20!
So there you have it, a whole new autumn collection I am loving right now for under£200. You can mix and match virtually all these pieces depending on your own personal style and of course the weather!

Tonight I will be posting about my daily makeup regime, and also this week will be focusing on getting my thoughts down about the Bloggers Love event I attended!
On Thursday 30th July, I couldn’t wait to ditch the office flats for my heels as I rushed over to Oxford Street after work. InStyle magazine had organised a special reader event in one of Swarovski’s Regent St stores. No expense was spared on the decorations; silver balloons glistening like diamonds and bags of sweet treats hidden in every corner. They even had Ciaté nail technicians on hand to give manicures too!
As I entered and took a glass of bubbly off the nearest tray to me, I couldn’t decide where to begin. The store was packed with ladies and handbags as well as mountains of jewellery, so I found myself stopping at the closest cabinet. My eye was immediately caught by a stunning pair of earrings, they were V shaped, rose gold, and they had my name on them! Thanks to the £10 gift card given to us on arrival, I purchased these for £59 on the night instead of £69. Check them out online here, they come in silver too!
We had a trend talk from InStyle’s Fashion Director who told us that mixed metals are the must-haves this season. My Delta earrings also have matching sister rings and necklaces, so we’ll see how long it takes for me to mix these up! After making my purchase, I headed for the manicure table. I chose a nude blush colour called ‘Amazing Gracie’, and almost 5 days on not a single chip. Ciaté are well worth the investment of £9 per bottle, and they have just launched a collection with Olivia Palermo, so they are gaining a name for themselves since launching in 2009.
InStyle have another event coming up in August- this time they have collaborated with Bravissimo and will take place in InStyle’s London office on the 12th August. Get your tickets for £10 here, I’ll definitely be going there on another adventure soon!
I’m not sure how a country can be so relaxing yet be so vibrant and exciting at the same time. But somehow Dubai did it.
This was a great holiday from start to finish, and let me tell you it was a great start to be flying business class for the first time! We were on the friends and family list due to our gracious host in Dubai being a pilot for Emirates. When we got to Gatwick we were directed to premium check- in and security (which I never knew existed), and words cannot describe the flight. I hardly noticed the 6 and a half hour journey out as I spent most of it ‘knocked out!’ – I blame the mattress and horizontal bed experience. Having a personal minibar helped too 🙂
So… The holiday
Much like most of my holidays, I think I spent the month running up to it in full pack-attack mode. I created a holiday inspiration Pinterest board which you can find here: (https://uk.pinterest.com/Saharasplash/holiday-inspo-dubai/) I had a lot of fun putting together outfits that were both concealing enough for Arabic culture, yet free flowing and airy enough that I wouldn’t combust or melt in the 40 degree heat.
2 malls I recommend are the Emirates Mall (where you can go skiing in their indoor slopes!) and the Dubai Mall. Both have every shop imaginable and the food courts are fulfilling in every way- take a visit to P F Changs at the Emirates Mall and elevation burger in the Dubai Mall.
Last time I visited Dubai I did the Atlantis water park, this time I ventured to Wild Wadi. Although this is smaller it is a lot less crowded. I think there were about 80 people in the whole park when it opened at 10, and only started to get busy when we left at 2. This was quite a memorable day as while watching a well built man doing the wave machine I suddenly realised that it was in fact Jensen Ackles from Supernatural… in swimming trunks and nothing else…so a hot day! Side note- check out my awesome monogrammed bikini from H&M! They were doing it for free in Oxford Circus so I had to get it!
lucky enough to visit the Cayan Tower on our travels round the city- picture below. This building twists one degree for every floor, so by the time you are on the 90th floor and look down you are facing a different side! We went to take a peak off one of our friends balconies and the view of the marina was just stunning.
Dragonmart was the last activity of the trip. It’s a market that is shaped like a dragon, the rooftop tiles are scale-like and it goes on for miles. Go visit the Dragonmart (http://www.dragonmart.ae) for anything and everything- literally! Clothes, gadgets, electric goods and the kitchen sink!
Like all good holidays, they come to a close just as soon as they begin, but I have some great memories of Dubai this year and hopefully some great photos too that will keep me going till my next venture 🙂
This Wednesday I went to the Cosmo Lingerie Show for 2015. After going to last year’s Cosmo Fashfest, I really wanted to do another one. It’s such a great evening to do with girlfriends you get a bunch of free goodies, free drinks and an evening’s entertainment, what’s not to love?!
This time, the event was held at the Bloomsbury Ballroom near Holborn. We arrived a bit early so we decided to go to a bar on the corner of Bloomsbury Square and wait till the doors opened. When it was time to go, I changed my Melissa flats for Melissa heels and we walked to the venue just in time. Inside we were greeted by a grand looking marble hall, and the queue disappeared down a marble staircase rose petals were scattered on the floor, such a great effect!
We left our coats and made our way down some more stairs where the venue awaited us. I had bought my outfit the weekend before at Westfield Stratford City- I decided to get a co-ord set from House of Celeb Boutique in khaki with gold detail and pair it with an orange tailored blazer (also Celeb Boutique). I fell in love at first sight with this set and you can’t go wrong with CB- their stretchy and strong material is Herve inspired and will mould to fit your shapes and curves to make you look fabulous.
We took a look at all that was on show: Very.co.uk had a rack of colourful delicates, as did Wonderbra, Freya, Bluebella and Coco de Mer. There were many competitions to enter and lingerie to feel and was a fantastic way to get everyone thinking about what they wear underneath their layers!
The show started off with a few songs from X Factor’s Rebecca Ferguson, and we had an inspirational talk from Kris, the founder of Coppafeel about breast cancer awareness. Rumour has it that Anne Summers will be next on board to support the fabulous charity!
I’ve selected a few of my favourite looks from the catwalk, plus what was in our goodie bags! The models were excellent, and represented a range of shapes and sizes so you could see the pieces from different perspectives. My fav thing from the goodie bag was the bourjois 3D effect lipgloss. This was super and stayed on all day valentine’s day! I have yet to try out the lingerie we received from Wonderbra and Freya- though I’m sure they will not disappoint!
I cannot recommend Cosmo’s events highly enough, if you want to check out more from the night, Cosmopolitan also have a write up here
The next one coming up is a Bailey’s girls’ night out and pamper session, and I shall definitely be there! You can get tickets and more info here!
