So yesterday evening I had the pleasure of working with Annie and Aleks as we did a last minute Photoshoot at my flat. I was wearing 2 pieces by a latex designer and we had such a great time!
My look was dark pink eyes and we recreated doll like poses. This was my first time wearing latex for a shoot, and although I struggled to get into it, it looked fab on!
We used my living room and bedroom and did some elegant shots with light boxes. I wore my cherry Vivienne Westwoods for the final touch and left my hair down and loose. I don’t really wear pink clothes or makeup so it was a nice change as I wouldn’t have chosen to wear something like this normally!
I’ll be posting the finished photos up on my model page here and on my insta here over the next few days, so watch out!!!
On Thursday 30th July, I couldn’t wait to ditch the office flats for my heels as I rushed over to Oxford Street after work. InStyle magazine had organised a special reader event in one of Swarovski’s Regent St stores. No expense was spared on the decorations; silver balloons glistening like diamonds and bags of sweet treats hidden in every corner. They even had Ciaté nail technicians on hand to give manicures too!
As I entered and took a glass of bubbly off the nearest tray to me, I couldn’t decide where to begin. The store was packed with ladies and handbags as well as mountains of jewellery, so I found myself stopping at the closest cabinet. My eye was immediately caught by a stunning pair of earrings, they were V shaped, rose gold, and they had my name on them! Thanks to the £10 gift card given to us on arrival, I purchased these for £59 on the night instead of £69. Check them out online here, they come in silver too!
We had a trend talk from InStyle’s Fashion Director who told us that mixed metals are the must-haves this season. My Delta earrings also have matching sister rings and necklaces, so we’ll see how long it takes for me to mix these up! After making my purchase, I headed for the manicure table. I chose a nude blush colour called ‘Amazing Gracie’, and almost 5 days on not a single chip. Ciaté are well worth the investment of £9 per bottle, and they have just launched a collection with Olivia Palermo, so they are gaining a name for themselves since launching in 2009.
InStyle have another event coming up in August- this time they have collaborated with Bravissimo and will take place in InStyle’s London office on the 12th August. Get your tickets for £10 here, I’ll definitely be going there on another adventure soon!
It’s July! And it’s crazy hot here in London today- temperatures are soaring upwards of 30 degrees in this heat wave and I’m at work in a gladly air conditioned office!
So, I thought I would let you all know some exciting news happening this month and throughout the summer-
I am in the preliminary stages of setting up my own management company for Petite Models!
The company will be called Petite Model management and I am so thrilled to be working with some amazing petite models over July and August for test shoots!
I feel really passionate about the industry of fashion and modelling, and have seen for a long time now that there is a huge gap in the market for petites. Of course some agencies do have a petite range of models, but this is disproportionate to the majority of models on their books, nor is there an actual UK based agency specifically for petites. So this is what I will be focusing on trying to create this year!
If you are under 5”7 and this is something you would love to know more about please get in touch! I am welcoming all ages and ethnicities to come and test shoot with me in London for free this summer!
Also if you are a MUA or designer and are looking to collaborate with a bunch of petite beauties, also please get in touch!
I hope that this will grow into something big through word of mouth and through social media- at the moment I have a twitter set up and once I have selected my models from the test shoots I will be setting up a website!
Any comments or willing participants, share the word that petite is fierce and we are coming to get you!
The Velvet Closet is a brand new online luxury boutique, and I had the pleasure of attending their launch party in central London. I had a brand new dress that was dying for an outing- from one of my favs and never disappoints- American Apparel. I paired the dress with a Tatty Devine necklace and faux fur coat from Barneys New York.
The atmosphere was great, everyone was dressed for the occasion and it was clear that a lot of effort had been put into organising the launch party. Cupcakes, cookies and cakes with TheVC logos among other devilish yummies were laid out to tempt and tease us, though as a coeliac I merely took photos of the wondrous delights and settled for a glass of water instead.
It’s cool- I know it may sound like I was missing out but just being there was enough to satisfy my hunger- my fashion hunger!
The VC team put together a video showcasing what would be available to purchase from the website and who the collaborating designers were. I was very impressed by the selection and range, not just for women- men too!
This Wednesday I went to the Cosmo Lingerie Show for 2015. After going to last year’s Cosmo Fashfest, I really wanted to do another one. It’s such a great evening to do with girlfriends you get a bunch of free goodies, free drinks and an evening’s entertainment, what’s not to love?!
This time, the event was held at the Bloomsbury Ballroom near Holborn. We arrived a bit early so we decided to go to a bar on the corner of Bloomsbury Square and wait till the doors opened. When it was time to go, I changed my Melissa flats for Melissa heels and we walked to the venue just in time. Inside we were greeted by a grand looking marble hall, and the queue disappeared down a marble staircase rose petals were scattered on the floor, such a great effect!
We left our coats and made our way down some more stairs where the venue awaited us. I had bought my outfit the weekend before at Westfield Stratford City- I decided to get a co-ord set from House of Celeb Boutique in khaki with gold detail and pair it with an orange tailored blazer (also Celeb Boutique). I fell in love at first sight with this set and you can’t go wrong with CB- their stretchy and strong material is Herve inspired and will mould to fit your shapes and curves to make you look fabulous.
We took a look at all that was on show: Very.co.uk had a rack of colourful delicates, as did Wonderbra, Freya, Bluebella and Coco de Mer. There were many competitions to enter and lingerie to feel and was a fantastic way to get everyone thinking about what they wear underneath their layers!
The show started off with a few songs from X Factor’s Rebecca Ferguson, and we had an inspirational talk from Kris, the founder of Coppafeel about breast cancer awareness. Rumour has it that Anne Summers will be next on board to support the fabulous charity!
I’ve selected a few of my favourite looks from the catwalk, plus what was in our goodie bags! The models were excellent, and represented a range of shapes and sizes so you could see the pieces from different perspectives. My fav thing from the goodie bag was the bourjois 3D effect lipgloss. This was super and stayed on all day valentine’s day! I have yet to try out the lingerie we received from Wonderbra and Freya- though I’m sure they will not disappoint!
I cannot recommend Cosmo’s events highly enough, if you want to check out more from the night, Cosmopolitan also have a write up here
The next one coming up is a Bailey’s girls’ night out and pamper session, and I shall definitely be there! You can get tickets and more info here!
Ok so it’s been a great start to 2015, super busy, even more busy than 2014! I am continuing my London journey, making memories, meeting photographers, fashion addicts and other bloggers too which is great.
I would love to share some photos I did towards the end of 2014, this was based on a great mood board and I had an amazing MuA to help create these striking looks. I went on to use the orange wig for a Fifth Element cosplay! The. Co-ord set is from pretty little thing, a recent find I am really loving! I’m hoping to share lots more with you over February, here are a few things I have lined up in the coming weeks: (there may be a slight theme!)
Cosmopolitan lingerie event, Bloomsbury ballroom
50 shades of Grey Premiere
Anything but Grey night sponsored by Allura Latex, Vollers, Coco de mer and many more (my very first catwalk!)
Game of Thrones exhibition (because I have to)
Looking forward to my ventures, and hope you are too- stay tuned!
